Hi there! I’m so happy that you could join us today for a fun hop with Dare 2B Artzy and My Sweet Petunia (creators of the Misti)! I’m excited to share with you three cards that were a breeze to make thanks to the Misti! All cards were created with the beautiful Dare 2B Artzy stamp set, Poinsettia Tangle.
If you are a new cardmaker and are asking yourself “what is a Misti?” I’d be happy to explain! The Misti created by My Sweet Petunia, is a stamping tool that allows you to stamp multiple times in the SAME EXACT POSITION! This means that if the image that you are stamping doesn’t stamp up all the way the first time around, you can stamp over and over exactly over the original stamped image! There are lots of other ways to use the Misti, but today I am focusing on stamping multiple images on three different card panels. If you’d like to see the Misti in action, I also have a corresponding YouTube video!
Ok, now let’s get started!
I gathered up my supplies which are the Mini Misti, the D2BA stamp set Poinsettia Tangle, three cardstock panels, some vellum, and some watermark ink.
I placed my first card panel into the Misti and the panel in place using the bar magnet (yes, a magnet is included when you buy the Misti!) I positioned the large poinsettia image onto the card panel, closed the Misti “door”, which then grabs the stamp so that I can ink it up. I inked up the stamp using a watermark ink and then pushed the Misti door back down. Pushing the Misti door back down creates contact between the stamped image and the card panel. I inked up the stamp and repeated this process several times. I left the stamp in the same position in the Misti and then repeated stamped with watermark in onto the other two card panels. Next, I moved my stamp into a position and followed the same process again. The process was the same except for the white card panel, which I used white embossing powder on.
I used my Misti again to stamp the poinsettia image onto vellum. I then fussy cut these images. Next, I used the Misti again to stamp the sentiments onto the card panels.
Once all of the stamping was complete, I created three thin square borders using the same cardstock as I used with the panels. These borders were then adhered using liquid glue to each of the card panels. The vellum poinsettias were popped up using a circle foam dot and embellishments were added to the center of the poinsettia.
The last step was adhering all of the card panels to white 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card bases and then adding some white and gold “sprinkles” using a paint pen.
I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial!
Enjoy all of the stops on the hop and don’t forget to leave a comment on each participant’s post for your chance to win one of the GIVEAWAYS!
